Welcome to the Accessibility page on the Ohio At Home website. This audio guide is part of Ohio At Home's built-in accessibility features. Everyone should be able to find information and ask for support. This guide explains website controls, browser and device settings that may help, and ways to report a barrier. This page stays still; it has no opening animation.
Listening to a page
The Listen control is at the top of the website. Where a recorded page guide is available, Listen plays prepared narration in an AI-generated voice. Otherwise, it reads the prepared guide with an available local voice on your device. It does not read entered form answers. Reading starts only when you ask. Choose Listen to start and Stop listening to stop. For recorded guides, a compact player appears at the bottom of your screen and stays with you as you scroll. It lets you play, pause, resume, and choose a chapter. The close button stops playback and returns you to Listen. Its seek slider moves within the current chapter. Use the slider with your pointer, or focus it and use your keyboard's arrow keys. The time display shows your position and the chapter's length. Changing Speed adjusts the recording without restarting it, and paused audio stays paused. Your speed follows your other reading preferences between pages. Restoring a speed never starts audio. More settings offers the same speed, pause, resume, and chapter choices, and both sets of controls stay in sync. Read the page guide opens the prepared text where provided. If no recorded guide or local voice is available, you can use your browser's reading tools or your device's screen reader. No microphone is used.
Text size and spacing
You can increase the website text size up to two hundred percent. Choose Adjust text size at the top of the page, then A plus or A minus to change the size in steps of twelve and a half percentage points. Reset returns the text to one hundred percent. For more space between letters, words, and lines, open More settings and choose Text spacing. Browser zoom still works. Use the browser menu, Control and plus on Windows, or Command and plus on a Mac.
Display and motion preferences
The website follows your device's light or dark setting until you choose a theme. The theme control at the top switches between light and dark. In More settings, Theme preference offers System, Light, and Dark. System follows changes to your device's appearance. Light or Dark keeps your explicit choice. High contrast works with either theme. More settings includes Emphasize links, which adds stronger underlining. Dark and high-contrast views use a plain opening background, and your device's forced-color settings remain in control. Some other pages have silent decorative opening animations. Choose Reduce decorative motion in More settings to keep their images still, or use a page's Pause or Play animation button. A device reduced-motion preference keeps animations still by default. The animations pause when out of view. If an animation does not load, its still opening image remains visible. The page text contains the information.
From the start of a page, press Tab to reveal Skip to main content, then Enter to move past the header. Tab moves forward through links and controls, and Shift with Tab moves back. Enter follows a link. Use Enter or Space on buttons, the mobile Menu, and frequently asked question headings to open or close them. Pages use headings and landmarks to organize their content. Your assistive technology's navigation commands can move between them. These website preferences work alongside your browser and assistive tools. The optional settings panel needs JavaScript; browser zoom, screen readers, keyboard navigation, and device display preferences still work without that panel.
Accessibility standards
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version two point two, Level double A, guide Ohio At Home's accessibility work. The optional reading preferences complement the page's underlying accessibility. They do not replace it or establish conformance on their own. The information pages include headings and landmarks, visible keyboard focus indicators, a skip-to-content link on each page, layouts that adapt to screen width, pause and play controls for opening animations, and support for reduced-motion preferences. Remembering your preferences
Your text size, spacing, theme, high contrast, reduced motion, link emphasis, and reading speed follow navigation and reloads in this browser tab when browser storage is available. To keep them for future visits, choose Remember on this browser in More settings. Uncheck it to remove choices kept across visits while retaining each open tab's current choices for its session. Reset preferences removes saved choices, returns the current site to device-following defaults, resets reading speed to normal, and stops this page's narration. Remembered changes and resets also update other open tabs at the same website address. Your browser and device settings are not changed. Browsers may restore a tab's session after restarting, so use Reset preferences to clear your choices. If storage is unavailable, the panel explains what could not be saved or cleared. The website privacy notice explains the small reset or Remember-status record used to keep tabs consistent. On the public website at ohioathome.com and the forms at forms.ohioathome.com, following an ordinary link in the same tab can carry these seven preferences between the sites. This also works in the paired local visual preview. Other versions keep separate choices. Choose Remember separately on each site; following a link never turns it on for you. Direct visits and links opened in new tabs use the destination site's own saved choices. Reset affects the current site; those default choices can travel when you next follow a same-tab link. The handoff never starts narration or includes form answers, authentication information, or playback position or history. If the handoff or storage is unavailable, navigation still works using the destination's settings.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and Ohio At Home welcomes reports of barriers and suggestions. Choose Share Accessibility Feedback to reach the contact page or form. Include the page you were using, what you were trying to do, and the difficulty you encountered. If helpful, describe your browser or assistive technology. Personal or health records are not needed to describe a website issue. Explain how you would like the team to follow up and whether you need help accessing particular information.
